This documentary is part of a global initiative to advance research relevant to the health of (pregnant) women. It will raise awareness and educate the public, employers, policy makers & health care providers about NVP/HG and its far-reaching physical, psychological, social and economic effects as well as gather support, resources & funding for the HER Foundation.
We want to paint a powerful, yet realistic portrait of what it means to suffer NVP or survive an HG pregnancy, so we’re turning to the Facebook /online community to help us provide well-grounded insight on the challenges common to “morning sickness” and the often difficult decisions that patients, supported by their doctors/midwives, have to make.
We have both been working in the industry for over 15 years and been behind the camera; writing, directing, producing for a little over 3 years. We released our first short film this year with some acclaim and also have a narrative feature in early pre-production. Our extended bio is on our website. www.zenfinitypictures.com
We have assembled a top-notch Hollywood film crew comprised of members who were personally affected by HG, and are being advised by award winning Producers and Directors.
Your voices need to be heard! Our goal for this documentary is to take real women's stories and share your collective voices to bring about change.
We intend to examine NVP through the eyes of five to ten pregnant women (and their families/physicians/employers) with symptoms ranging in severity from mild morning sickness to life-threatening HG. We are also interested in the aftermath of NVP as it relates to mothers and their caregivers, the total impact of the condition on society at large, the history of “morning sickness” (thalidomide), HER and the pathway to a cure. We want to highlight the significant achievements of HER members and affiliates, not only in the effort to better understand NVP/HG, but also to better manage the symptoms and lifestyle changes faced by members of this community. We believe with our combined life experience as well as our diverse entertainment industry backgrounds we can create an engaging and artistic work that will change lives.
